1966-ൽ കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിലെ പുറമേരിയിൽ ജനിച്ചു. പിതാവ് കെ എം കണാരൻ മാസ്റ്റർ അധ്യാപകനും വോളിബോൾ കളിക്കാരനുമായിരുന്നു. അമ്മ ലീല വീട്ടമ്മയാണ്. വിലാതപുരം എൽപി സ്കൂൾ, കടത്തനാട് രാജാസ് ഹൈസ്കൂൾ, മടപ്പള്ളി ഗവ: കോളേജ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം.
അധ്യാപകനായി ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന ശിവദാസ് പുറമേരി 2022 ൽ ഗവ:ഹൈസ്കൂൾ അഴിയൂരിൽ നിന്ന് വിരമിച്ചു. ചോർന്നൊലിക്കുന്ന മുറി, ചിലതരം വിരലുകൾ, മഴനനയുന്ന വെയിൽ, മനുഷ്യനെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച കണ്ണാടികൾ എന്നീ നാല് കവിതാ സമാഹാരങ്ങൾ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
അബുദാബി ശക്തി അവാർഡ് (2010), പ്രൊഫ.ജോസഫ് മുണ്ടശ്ശേരി അവാർഡ് (2004), ചെറുശ്ശേരി പുരസ്കാരം(2013), എൻ.എൻ. കക്കാട് സ്മാരക സംഗതം അവാർഡ് (2000) , മൂടാടി ദാമോദരൻ പുരസ്കാരം (2008), അധ്യാപക കലാസാഹിത്യ സമിതിയുടെ കവിതയ്ക്കുള്ള സംസ്ഥാന അവാർഡ് (2003), മുറവശ്ശേരി അവാർഡ് (1994), അരൂർ പത്മനാഭൻ സ്മാരക അവാർഡ് (2016), കെ.പി. കായലാട് പുരസ്കാരം (2021),
ഇടശ്ശേരി പുരസ്കാരം ( KACA-2022)തുടങ്ങിയ പുരസ്‌കാരങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
രണ്ട് കവിതകൾ കാലിക്കറ്റ്, എംജി സർവകലാശാലകളിലെ ഡിഗ്രി, പി.ജി.കോഴ്‌സുകളിൽ പഠനത്തിനായി നിർദ്ദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ചില കവിതകൾ ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലേക്കും ഹിന്ദിയിലേക്കും വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്യപ്പെടുകയുമുണ്ടായി.
ഗാനരചയിതാവ് എന്ന നിലയിൽ 2011-ൽ ദേശീയ അവാർഡ് നേടിയ ബ്യാരി, 2022-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഏതംഎന്നിവ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന അഞ്ച് സിനിമകൾക്ക് ചലച്ചിത്രഗാനങ്ങൾ രചിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ടെലിഫിലിമുകൾക്കും നാടകങ്ങൾക്കുമായി എഴുതിയ ഒരു ഡസനോളം ഗാനങ്ങളും ഉണ്ട്.
2015-16 അധ്യയന വർഷത്തേക്കുള്ള കേരള സംസ്ഥാന സ്കൂൾ പ്രവേശനോത്സവഗാനവും എഴുതിയിട്ടുുണ്ട്.
Sivadas Purameri, one of the prominent poets of Kerala who started writing after the heyday of modernism in Malayalam was born in Purameri, a village in Kozhikode district of Kerala State in 1966. His father K M Kanaran Master was a teacher and a volleyball player. His mother Leela is a housewife. He had his schooling at Vilathapuram LP School and Kadathanad Raja’s High School Purameri. He did his bachelor’s degree at Govt: College Madappally. Sivadas Purameri was a teacher and retired from service in 2022 from Govt: High School Azhiyur. He has to his credit four anthologies of poems titled, Chornnolikunna Muri(The Leaking Room), Chilatharam Viralukal(Certain Types of Fingers), Mazhananayunna Veyil (Sunlight Bathing in Rain) and Manushyanen Prathishticha Kannadikal (Mirrors that Instilled Humans). He won many coveted awards for poetry such as Abudabi Shakthi Award (2010),Prof. Joseph Mundasseri Award (2004), Cherusseri Puraskaram (2013), N. N. Kakkad Award (2000), Moodadi Dhamodaran Award (2008),State Award for Poetry instituted by Art and Literary Council of Teachers(2003), Muravasseri Award (1994), Aroor Padmanabhan Memorial Award (2016) , KP Kayalad Sahithya Puraskaram(2021) Edasseri puraskaram (KACA-2022) etc. Two of his poems were prescribed for Degree courses in Calicut and M G Universities. Some of his poems were also translated into English and Hindi.
As a lyricist he has written film songs for five films which includes Byari, the national award winning movie in 2011 and Athem released in 2022. He has also written the title songs for different T V serials for prominent T V channels like Asianet, Manorama T V, Amrita T V. etc. There are also a dozen of other songs to his credit which he wrote for Telefilms and plays.
The Kerala State School Re-opening Ceremony Song for the academic year 2015-16 was also written by him. The song titled The sunrise of Letters was widely acclaimed by the academia of the state.
